The vision for a Contra Dance Camp Wedding Retreat
The Vision
-
Contra
Contra dance and the community have been central to Clarissa and Erik’s relationship developing and growing. Between movie nights, camping trips, day hikes, frisbee games, parties, and more, our social network has centered around this core contra dance community.
Because this community has given us so much, we hope to share our love back with the community that nurtured us. We hope our guests will accept our invitation to a “dance camp on us.” We hope that you’ll feel comfortable joining solely as a guest with no obligations to volunteer or contribute, like a more traditional dance camp. Though, were you to have a way in which you’d like to share your talents and interests with all guests, we’d love to feature those too. If you have an idea, please let us know.

Camp
From the very first group camping trip in 2016 to the latest annual summer camping trip, Clarissa and Erik love celebrating their love of nature together. We’re so glad to share this love of the Pacific Northwest Environment with you. And we’re thrilled to be able to share an opportunity to enjoy the richness of rural Oregon.
Both Erik and Clarissa consider summer camp to have been fundamental to helping both people grow into who they are today. While Erik’s camp with Centers for Spiritual Living and Clarissa’s experiences with First United Methodist Church were different, the lessons Camp taught us remain key foundations upon which to build our lives. We hope you’ll share in our love of connecting with Spirit, nature, and each other

Connection
We’ve been fortunate to have found many connections in our lives. Represented among us are bonds we hold dear. We’re inviting folks to a retreat in order to hold space for the time it takes to build meaningful connections.
We’re grateful to have so many friendships and beloved family members we cannot wait to share festivities with. Each day, activity, or adventure is a way in which we’re hoping to share the joy we’ve found in each other and the world around us.
Play
Our hope is for this to be a fun, family-friendly getaway into a haven of joy. We hope you’ll take us up on our offer of many playful activities designed to bring out the child in you. From pool parties to a giant slip and slide to wading in the river or a friendly frisbee game, please join us in laughing, giggling, romping, splashing, rolling, and leaping for joy.
Explore
We’ve reserved all of Camp Cedar Ridge for the duration of our stay. The camp is 35 acres of land that borders a feeder to the Nehalem River known as Rock Creek. Among the many structured activities and camp amenities at “Main Camp”, the grounds host many well-maintained, wide paths, often wheelchair accessible. We hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity to get to know the trees, birds, and other wildlife that call this area home.
